Standard uploads get dropped to 30fps and softer resolution. TikTok only preserves 60fps and 1080p when the file signals high-quality source.

Export H.264 MP4, 1080×1920 (9:16 vertical), 30–60fps, at 10–12 Mbps bitrate, audio AAC 256 kbps, and keep the file under 287 MB (TikTok's upload cap). Avoid H.265/HEVC on normal exports — TikTok re-encodes it and you lose quality. Avoid re-encoded files — they carry a weak quality signal from the start.
In the TikTok app: Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Content preferences → toggle 'Allow high-quality uploads' ON.

Works, but the iOS/Android apps re-encode before upload. Use stable Wi-Fi with Data Saver OFF — cellular uploads trigger extra compression.
TikTok's 'Share to Instagram' and similar cross-posting double-compress your video. Always upload the original file directly.
Note: official third-party tools that use TikTok's Content Posting API (like schedulers) upload with no intermediate compression — the same path desktop uses under the hood.

Open your posted TikTok on a desktop browser.
Right-click the video → Inspect (or press F12) → open the Network tab.
Refresh the page and filter by 'Media'.
Click the video URL — the filename usually contains the frame rate. If it shows 30, the upload path compressed it.

TikTok's preferred codec. Compatible with every device, survives the upload pipeline best, and it's the only codec the binary patch targets. Export H.264 MP4 for the sharpest result.
TikTok re-encodes HEVC aggressively and many viewers' devices can't play it well. If your phone exports HEVC, either re-export as H.264 or upload it to Void Studio — we convert it server-side, then patch it.
